Friends – Homework

Hello Friends Class!

Just a reminder, last homework assignment that was posted is due this Pathfinder Sabbath after potluck. Also, those who need to turn in work from the past (honor answers, memory verses, etc), please have that ready to on Sabbath too.

You need to have all your other materials in class, Bible, workbook, notebook, etc. NO EXCUSES.

Friends Class!

The following students haven’t completed or turn in there honors in Dogs and Red Alert:

Dogs:

Girls: Jaedyn, you still owe written answers. You can email me those if you want.

Ale, you still owe me all of it.

 

Boys: CJ, you still owe me all of it.

 

The following students owe me the answers for Red Alert:

The questions have been posted on the website a few weeks back, please look for them. We will finish the last part of the Dogs honor in next class meeting.

Friends Class – Honors: Dogs And Red Alert

Hey  Guys!

Here we go! We started working on the Dogs honor in Friends and we will wrap it by this Sunday including the Red Alert honor as well (yes! you will get another honor patch for this too).  The following questions you need to have answer BY class time on Sunday for Dogs and Red Alert (there easy).

Here is the Dogs honor questions to have answer:

1. Give the scientific name of the dog family  (this one we answer in class last time).

2. Name five distinctive characteristics of the dog family.

3. Identify from pictures or personal observation five wild members of the dog family (We will do this in class on Sunday). But do study photos of 5 of them.

4. Identify from pictures or personal observation 25 different breeds of dogs (We will do this in class on Sunday). But do study photos of least 25 dogs.

5. Name five contributions the dog family has made to man.

6. Give the name of the smallest and largest breed of dog (this one we answer in class last time).

7. Write or describe orally the value to man of the following dogs:

a. Seeing-eye

b. Saint Bernard

c. Shepherd

d. Collie

e. Eskimo

8. Write or tell what special contribution dogs have made to man in wartime (this one you will tell in class, do not write this story).

9. Identify from pictures or personal observation five dogs that are classed as “toy” dogs (We will do this in class on Sunday).

10. What is the only dog that has a wholly blue or black tongue?

11. Which is the fastest-running dog?

12. Which member of the “toy” dogs has become the most popular?

13. What dog has been especially helpful in tracking criminals?

14. Write or tell a dog story (this one you will tell in class, do not write this story).

 

Here is the Red Alert honor questions to have answer:

1. Tell what you should do to prevent injury and/or possible loss of life in the following situations:

a. A fire in your house, a neighbor’s house, and a public building.

b. If you are stranded in a car in a blizzard or desert

c. Motor vehicle accident

d. Earthquake

e. Flood

f. Tornado

g. Hurricane

h. Thunderstorm

i. Atomic emergency

j. Rock or snow avalanche

k. Your boat or canoe capsizes in open water

2. When telephoning for help in an emergency situation, what essential information should be given and who should hang the telephone up last?

3. Demonstrate what emergency first aid measures you should take in the following situations?

a. Someone’s clothes catch on fire

b. A severely bleeding wound

c. Someone is choking

d. Someone swallows poison

4. Do the following:

a. Draw an escape route for your family in case of fire in your home when your normal exits are blocked.

b. Practice with your family a home fire drill.

c. Discuss with your examiner the procedures for safely getting people out of your church and school in case of a fire. Consideration should be given as to how to prevent panic.

5. What should you and your parents do to prevent abduction of children in your family? What should you do if you are abducted?

 

Have all these questions answer for Dogs and Red Alert (in writing) by class time on Sunday. The Red Alert questions are also in your handbook on page 13.

 

Also read in your hand book on page 19 the “Safety Rules for Camping.” We will go over this in class too.

Friend Class – March 6

Hello!

Thank you to those who showed up on Sunday for swimming honor class; hope you had fun!

This Sunday for class the following is due:

1. From the old testament choose one Bible character and read the chapters on his/her life. Read what can be found on the same person from a Bible commentary, Biblical research book, or the spirit of prophesy.  Only two of you have sent me a character and nobody else. Those who haven’t sent it send January are minus one point. You need to email me your character before Sunday.

2.  This coming Sunday you need to have finish reading the book “The Happy Path”. There will be a quiz the second you walk into class on this pathfinder meeting. Excuses will not be heard and I will just smile like this  :-)

3. Read (or should have read by now) the entire book of Daniel and be ready to discuss in class.

4. A reading assignment was handed out for your Weekly Bible Reading Guide two Sunday’s ago. Nobody has email me for the PDF for the reading assignment. So on Sunday you will be given a handout for this, be ready to do A LOT reading.

Last and but no least, please have all your materials (bible, Friends workbook, notebook, etc.) and assignments ready for class on Sunday. Some of you are not bringing materials to class. YOU NEED TO HAVE YOUR MATERIALS IN CLASS ON SUNDAY. IF NOT, AGAIN YOU WILL LOSE POINTS.

Losing pioints will go against you on your advanced Friends class pin, don’t lose points.

Friends Assignment

Hello!

Thank you to those who showed up on Sunday for Friends class. If you didn’t, oh well don’t worry.

But a assignment was handed out for your Weekly Bible Reading Guide on Sunday. For those who didn’t show up, you need to email me so I can send you a PDF file so you can continue this assignment. The first week verses was posted several weeks ago. This PDF file is the rest of the verses you need to read. SO PLEASE EMAIL SO I CAN SEND YOU THE FILE. Don’t wait. :-)

 

Second, the next meeting you need to have finish reading the book “The Happy Path”. There will be a quiz the second you walk into class on the next pathfinder meeting. Excuses will not be heard and I will just smile like this –  :-)

Friends Class – Homework and Quiz

Hello All!

For those who haven’t read or done their homework that was posted back in January, here it is again:

Helllo All!

Here are the following assignments for Friends class due at the next meeting:

1. From the old testament choose one Bible character and read the chapters on his/her life. Read what can be found on the same person from a Bible commentary, Biblical research book, or the spirit of prophesy.

2. Find and read at least three current articles (or three chapters in a book) on etiquette and social graces.

3. Read at least two current articles on each of the following: nutrition, drugs, alcohol, and tobacco.

4. Read the entire book of Daniel and be ready to discuss in class.

Please email me back your character you wil be selecting for assignment number 1. All this assignments will be due on the next Pathfinder meeting (February 20th). Including finishing the “The Happy Path”. There will be a small quiz on the “Happy Path” on that day.

Starting today you be needing to reading your Weekly Bible Reading Guide. There will be a total of 13 weeks of selected verses. Here are the first 2 weeks verses:

Week 1: WHO AM I?

Psalm 139:13-16, John 14:12-31, John 15:1-17, Psalm 18:33-36, Deuteronomy 32:9, Jeremiah 2:21, Psalm 62:1-2

Week 2: WHAT ABOUT ME?

Colossians 2:8-23, 1 Corinthians 1:20-31, Jeremiah 9:23-24, Philippians 3:1-16, Romans 7:21-25, Luke 2:52, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.

More verses will be posted as time moves on. YOU NEED TO READ THIS VERSES one per week (new verses will be given on Sunday). There will be a prize for the one that can memorize the first week verses (WHO AM I?). These verses will be due on the next Pathfinder meeting. You will like this prize!
