Send Water

For those of you who were working with knots today (Rangers, Voyagers, & Guides) we need to learn some knots  for the Camporee event Send Water. One of the knots we need to learn is lashing three sticks in order to make a teepee. I recommend watching this video

Lashing Bamboo for Tripod

The first knot is a clove hitch and it was difficult for me, but watch this video if you have a hard time getting the clove hitch.

Clove Hitch Knot

Practice makes perfect. Do not be discouraged if you do not get it right away. Remember if it’s difficult it’s worth learning.

These are not the only knots we will have to learn. But it is very important to learn the club hitch. In order to use a lashing knot you must start with a club hitch. I will be posting more videos as we get closer and closer to camporee.

I know some of you are on spring break. So you will have a lot of extra time on your hands to learn knots. :D

Memorize, memorize, MEMORIZE!!!!!

Hello my wonderful Voyagers!!!!  As you all know, it’s prep time for Camporee events and we want to stand out this year… but not because we’re new or because we don’t know what we’re doing at the events.  This year we’re going in PREPARED!  I’m going to start by posting the memory verses for the “Sword & Shield” event.  When you memorize these (which are part of your required classwork anyway!) make sure that you’re using a King James Version Bible.  Make sure that you’re looking ONLY at the VOYAGER section.  I’ll be checking up every so often to monitor progress.  Here are the verses if you want to not look at the Camporee document:

Doctrine: Rev. 14:1-3
Great Passages: Gen. 2:2-3
Salvation: John 15:5,7 and Matt. 10:32-33
Prayer: Mark 11:25
Relationship: Heb. 10:24-25
Behavior: Gal. 5:22-23 and Micah 6:8
Promise/Praise: Rom. 8:28 and Matt. 24:44

Voyager Classwork

Hello Voyagers!  Just to let you know that this Sabbath after potluck we will be planning a Pathfinder Sabbath for next month.  Please bring your Voyager workbooks so that we can plan and get it ready.  Mr. Chris will be assisting if you have any questions.

Also, we will have  a special guest talking to us about our city government.  This is one of our requirements for classwork as well.  If you have any questions about city government, write them down and bring them ready to ask our guest.

Don’t miss it!!!  See you all soon!
