Reminder for Explorers

Please don’t forget your booklets for our next meeting. It will make it difficult for you and I to really work during class if you guys don’t bring your materials (Bible AND booklet).

Also, don’t forget that you can do honors outside of Pathfinders. Copy this link http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Adventist_Youth_Honors_Answer_Book and choose ONLY the NAD (North American Division) honors. If the they don’t offer it in NAD, make sure that they offer it in GC (General Conference).

Once you have chosen the honors you want to do, there is a form that you must fill-out to be turned in and signed. But do remember, that since you are doing this outside of the Pathfinder club, you are responsible for paying for each of the patches at the end of the year when Ms. Jocelyn orders them.

Painless Way Of Reading The Bible!!!

Hello Guides!!!

As mentioned previously, there IS a painless way of reading the bible: www.youversion.com

 

You have multiple versions of the bible (NIV, KJV, NKJV, etc).  If you’re going to be listening to the bible, and so it’s not boring, make sure that whatever version you listen to also has “Drama” (aka animated) in the title.  It’s like listening to an audio story.

International Food Fest 2011

Hello  All!

A reminder from the last pathfinder meeting, this Sunday, November 13th, is the International Food Fest at the El Paso Adventist Junior Academy. This event is to raise funds for the school and ALL churches in the El Paso are invited and participating in this event.

The EPAJA Alumni Committee has asked that the pathfinder clubs in El Paso take part in this event. The responsibilities included the following: run social games, clean up, direct parking, etc., to name a few. Responsibilities will be given out at the spagetti dinner this Saturday. On Sunday you will be required to wear your class C uniform (your t-shirt).

This event is SDA event and this also fills your requirements in your class work (most of you need to participate in a community, church or school activity, here is your chance).  Also, food will be at the event, a huge selection!

So we wait your presence there on Sunday. The event is from 12 noon to 4 pm. You are ask to be there by 10:30 am.

The following pathfinders need to call me by Wednesday: Pepper and Josue.

Youth Rally Update October 10, 2011

The cost for the trip.
Kids are $25 – includes meal and tshirt
Adults are $70 – includes gas, meal, and lodging.

From the past, we have been leaving at around 12pm and missed the Friday night worship. This year, we are doing something different so that we can get the entire benefit of the youth rally. Parents, if we could have the kids at church by 8 am so that we can leave by 8:30 am.

We are trying to get a letter from the Conference that will excuse the kids from school that Friday, October 21, 2011.

Youth Rally

For those of you who are going to the youth rally, please bring your $20 that we asked you to bring tomorrow at the Pathfinder meeting. Either give it to Mr. Donovan or Mr. Paolo. Again, this is a non-refundable deposit. Which means, that if you decide the last minute that you will not go, you will not get your $20 back. Therefore, before paying us, talk to you parents about it, look over your calendars, to make sure that there will be no schedule confliction, or if possible, make some scheduling changes to accomodate the Youth Rally.

Depending on the updated Youth funds, we will see how much we have to revise the $70 initial cost of the trip. Some of you are wanting to go to the youth rally, but because of the cost, are still debating on whether to go or not.

We don’t know what the event this year will be. 2009 Youth Rally was a gym night. On 2010, it was a banquet. So, when we receive the information, we will let you guys know, and/or post it here on the website.

No Pathfinder Sabbath this weekend, but….

The Pathfinder Sabbath originally scheduled for this weekend has been postponed to an undetermined date.

However…

We have been asked to be in charge of potluck this weekend at Central. The theme is haystacks, partly because we ended up with so much left over from the camping trip. This is what we are asking for:

  • Chartreuse Flames – Beans, Tomatoes
  • Cobalt Flames – Chips, Cheese
  • Jane – Dessert
  • Crimson Flames – Salsa, Olives
  • Non-Counseling Staff – Drink and any other toppings you want to see
